A few weeks ago I was sitting by my pond, and I casually said to the Lord, “Lord, I want a trout. You caused the animals to go into the ark, so I think it would be nothing for you to tell a trout to come to my pond…Will you do that for me, please?” We are at the end of a long line of ponds that flow from yard to yard, with screens and such, so I figured it would have to be an act of God. We went away for a week, and yesterday, look what John found in our pond! Now I’m praying for a mate for it and feeding it worms to keep it happy. John was tempted to get his fishing pole, but this fish came straight from the Almighty Fish Whisperer.
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, for everyone who asks, receives.
…If your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead?
…Of course not!
…How much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.”
(Taken from Luke 11) This big fish is a friendly reminder to pray for greater things—like more of His Spirit in me.
