Summer, winter, spring and pumpkin. What’s not to love about Fall?
Pulling out this season’s sweaters is like greeting old friends; all have their place in my life. One I wear for morning walks, another drapes the back of my desk chair at church, one cuddles me like a security blanket when I’m fighting—and losing—a cold. Then there’s the one I wear because my daughter wore it a decade ago. It should NOT be seen in public, but me being cutting-edge, I wear it anyway, developing my own line of fashion, “Bag-Lady Chic.”
I think of Bible verses as I do my sweaters. I can no more decide on my favorite verse than I can my favorite tooth. All are needed. This one for a sudden chill, that one for a shaded path. My favorite verse is the one most needed today.
Psalm 119:128 says, “I esteem ALL Your precepts concerning ALL things to be right.”
Each time I read through the Bible, I greet truths familiar and worn; but also, I find many new things formerly tucked away, perfectly fit and ready to wear.
Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you. Eze. 3:10
Let us esteem the LORD our God, who gives autumn and spring rains in season, who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.
