My hero, my brother Al, is waiting for a liver transplant. These days, his life pretty much consists of medical procedures designed to keep him going until help comes. Yet, in spite of pain and sickness, Al remains grateful, hopeful and content.
In regard to his future donor, Al says it’s very humbling, knowing someone will die so he can live.
I’m reminded of another Donor who said,
“I came so that they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed possible. I am the Good Shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep”. (John 10)
Jesus, our Live-r Donor.
My brother knows this Donor. It’s the secret to his “better life”- his peace- as he waits for another day, his transplant.
